For success of any programme, there is need for baseline assessment to understudy the background, history and problem you wish to solve.
VHF did a baseline assessment in these communities to understand that FGM type 4 were more prevalent and deep rooted in culture and traditional sentiments.
About ten thousand (10,000) Adolescent girls, ages 9years to 19 years are at risks. Girls and Women are confronted with the cultural biases and there may be an increased number of girls as prospective mothers who may perpetuate these harmful practices on their children if we fail to impact them with requisite skills, competencies and capacity to advocate to END Female Genital Mutilation and mobilize collective action against the practice.
Virgin Heart Foundation is guided by the policy of Inclusion and the program(leaving no one behind) within these 20 communities will pay attention to social mothers, pregnant teenagers and less privileged girls and Girls with Disabilities as primary beneficiaries.
