International Women’s Day 2024
#INSPIRE INCLUSION.
The International Women’s Day (IWD) 2024 is focusing on recognizing women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements.
Taking a focus on the theme of the year, #InspireInclusion, where we envision a “Gender equal world, free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated”.
Gender inclusion refers to policies, language, and other societal frameworks that respect and acknowledge all gender identities. Gender inclusive language, for instance, does not favor a particular gender and is sensitive to a person’s gender. It is a significant marker of gender equality and aims to reduce gender bias.
Gender inclusion is about creating an environment where people of all genders feel valued and respected. It is more than addressing the gender wage gap or achieving gender equality; it’s about recognizing and celebrating the diversity of gender identities and expressions.
Gender inclusion is inherently tied to human rights. It means recognizing and respecting the gender identity of all individuals, ensuring everyone is granted equal rights and protections against discrimination.
The day is important to Promote inclusive dialogue, educating oneself and others, and rejecting harmful stereotypes are crucial steps everyone can take towards creating a more inclusive and equitable world for all persons, irrespective of their gender identity.
As advocates for diversity and equality, we believe that fostering a culture of gender inclusion is not just a goal, but a fundamental necessity. Our organization is committed to promoting an environment where everyone, regardless of gender identity, feels respected, valued, and empowered.
We recognize the importance of creating spaces that embrace and celebrate the diversity of gender identities and expressions. Through education, training, and policy development, we are actively working to dismantle barriers and biases that may prevent individuals from fully participating and thriving in our community.
By promoting gender inclusion, we are not only upholding our commitment to equality but also tapping into the rich tapestry of experiences and perspectives that make our organization stronger and more vibrant. We understand that true progress requires intentional and sustained effort, and we are dedicated to continuously learning, growing, and evolving in our journey toward gender equity.
As we move forward, we invite our stakeholders to join us in this important work. Together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
