INTERVENTION FOR THREE MINORS LOCKED UP BY THEIR FATHER.

INTERVENTION FOR THREE MINORS LOCKED UP BY THEIR FATHER.

23 year old man , Ndudiri Onwumeze from Umunga Ngwuru Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, Imo State who locked up his three children solicit for help to take care of them.

A distress call by one of our Community Facilitators in Ogbe, Ahiazu Mbaise LGA over a young man of 23 years who locked his three children, 2 and 3 years(twins) old up in a room has appealed to the public for support. Virgin heart Foundation and Marjorie Ezihe, Coordinator, Onurube Nwanne, who intervened, held a meeting with the relatives (Umuopara Onwunwu Kindred Executives) of the father to the three minors on possible ways to mitigate hardship faced by the minors.

While the 23 years old young father was questioned of his reason for the ill treatment on his children, he hinted that it was not his intentions locking up his children, but did so to keep them safe pending his return from funeral event around the community. The group who went for the intervention noticed that the children barely feed and ill-taken care of since their mother brought them back to their father.

Mr Ndudiri has no source of livelihood and unable to care for the children not to mention their medical state that needs attention. The group cautioned the man of his way-world lifestyle and steady drug abuse that is capable of destroying his life.

Onurube Nwanne Advocates, while in broader conversation with the kindred executive members brought action plan to mitigate hardship and malnutrition faced by these children by sourcing out food items and to seek for other interventions, including reuniting their mother with them and empower her start up business to take care of the children.(The parents were only cohabiting and not maritally engaged) .

We call for immediate public support to help these children feed and enroll in school.
