Virgin Heart Foundation with support from #actionaidnigeria held Quarterly Review Meeting with the Male Peer Educators as Champions of Change.
Male Involvement in the #slocvawg Actionaid Project is to raise power voices who can challenge Socio-Cultural Norms existing within the communities.
As Peer Educators, they were consciously selected to train others on changing their perceptions on issues of VAWG within the School Environment and Communities.
Outcome: Students, especially, Male Students now support Girls to be Senior Prefect of the school.
At the Quarterly Review Meeting with the Male Peer Club as Champions of Change, We allowed the boys discuss the possibility of a female student becoming a Senior Prefect of their School, St Patrick’s Mission School, Ogbe, Ahiazu Mbaise, their reactions were priceless.One said , “A girl can be a president” .We are raising and training Boys who are willing to question and challenge Socio-Cultural Norms that exacerbates Violence Against Women and Girls.#positivemascuilinity#
