STILL ON FGM/CSouth East Zone has the highest prevalence.

The definition of Female Genital Mutilation, FGM/C was drawn from WHO. FGM/C is defined as all practices involving total or partial removal of a female genital organ, or any form of injury to the external female genitalia for non-medical purpose (WHO, 2017)It is estimated that Ebonyi has 74% in prevalence while Imo is about 68%.

This figure was not stated correctly.

Nigeria however in 2015 through Former President Good luck banned FGM/C in the VAPP Act.

FGM/C has been an age long traditional and harmful practice which in many countries have set up laws in different years banning the practice.
